- Previous experience working with youths in developing workshops, community-based initiatives, programmes and services.
- Higher diploma or above in social work / education / sociology / social sciences / community development, or other relevant disciplines.
- Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in providing supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
- Strong knowledge and commitment to Chinese-speaking youth issues.
- Ability to write proposals, develop budgets and liaise with funders.
- Strong critical analysis, problem-solving and negotiating skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written Cantonese and English.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to exercise maturity and de-escalate crisis situations.
- Can think strategically and collaborate with senior management to achieve organizational goals.
- Can take initiative, think outside of the box and inspire others.
- Flexible in approach and willing to occasionally provide outreach to youths.
The Candidate should also have good knowledge of existing youth services and programmes, a working knowledge of the Hong Kong judicial system as it pertains to youth, as well as the ability to build working relationships with businesses, government agencies and Chinese-speaking schools. He/She should also be self-reliant, resourceful and be able to write proposals.
